The Quiet Strength: Carrying Nigeria in Our Hearts

Date: December 21, 2025

My dearest Naija people,

As the year winds down, and as the longest night of the year, the Winter Solstice, casts its gentle shadow, I find myself thinking about us. About home. About the unique, beautiful, frustrating, and utterly resilient spirit that makes us Nigerian.

We carry so much, don't we? The dreams for our children, the prayers for a better tomorrow, the weight of the daily grind, and the endless hope that keeps us pushing forward. We face our challenges with a sigh and a smile, with "God Abeg" and "E go better." This isn't just a country; it's a heartbeat we carry, no matter where we are in the world.

The Power of Our Pause

Today, as the world pauses for the Solstice and many for World Meditation Day, I want us to take our own Nigerian pause. Forget the noise, the headlines, the constant pressure. Just for a moment, remember the small, beautiful things:

  • The taste of Jollof rice at a family gathering.

  • The sound of pidgin English that feels like coming home.

  • The way we greet elders with respect.

  • The resilience in our eyes, even when times are tough.

An Igbo proverb says: "A river does not forget its source." No matter how far we travel, how much we achieve, or how much changes around us, our source, our root, is Nigeria.

The Future We Are Building

We talk about the "Golden Generation" in football, but I believe we are living in another one. Not of easy victories, but of profound lessons. Every challenge we overcome, every innovation we bring forth, every small act of kindness we show to one another – these are the bricks in the Nigeria we are building for our children.

This isn't a call to ignore our struggles. It's a call to acknowledge our strength. To see the beauty in our hustle, the wisdom in our shared laughter, and the unwavering faith that tomorrow truly will be brighter.

Let's step into 2026 not just with resolutions, but with a renewed spirit. A spirit that remembers our source, honors our journey, and carries the invincible summer of Nigeria in our hearts.

With love and light, from one Nigerian to another.

Yours, [We All Love Intimacy ]
